Avignon is one of my very favourite towns... It is unique... and the history of the Palais des Papes is fascinating, as is the nursery rhyme "sur le pont d'Avignon, on y danse......"etc...

I've not read it, but the general consensus amongst my friends seems to be that if you have Marcella Hazan's The Essentials of Classic Italian Cooking, then you don't need it......
