There are not many topics on which I am absolutely, without a doubt, speechless. This is so scarey so many ways...
I expect it will be a huge success. |

Tomorrow is the Day of Atonement ( Yom Kippour) so I'll ask forgivenes of having had a good laugh reading Rainey's suggested blog.
May all our sins be absolved by whoever absolves our sins.
And to all of you fasting around the globe today, GMAR HATIMA TOVA, which means, in Hebrew:may your list of sins be accepted and signed and your a sins absolved.
No more wars, no more sins |

Woaw ! I'm almost speechless... Anyway, putting such a pan on the flame would feel a little like a blasphemy ! Which saint was put to the grill, I forgot...
Plus I do seem to remember that God very specifically forbade the making of objects in his image, and worship of said things... Or was it just for the benefit of the Hebrews he brought out of Egypt ?
Anyway... That is certainly a pan I would not want to have... |

I'm not devout in the least, but I enjoy this within the context of our cultural hysteria about millennial days and "holy" objects and phenomena showing up everywhere.
Perhaps that's not happening in France. _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor |

I do admit to being amazed by this religious mania, as said by Rainey. But you are right Rainey, France has not been overtaken yet by this phenomenon. After all our country's motto is "Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité" (freedom, equality, fraternity), we do not trust in God, like the USA write on their dollar bills, and our president does not swear on a Bible when he is sworn in, nor do we swear on it in court. Not to say that it's right or wrong, just that it's not our way.
Even if we do have this huge center of pilgrimage in the South, Lourdes, where the Virgin Mary is reputed to have appeared to a young bergère, who later became a saint, and miraculous healings are believed to have taken place (about 60 officially acknowledged by the Church in more than a hundred years). Thousands upon thousands of sick and crippled people go there every year and drink the water coming out of a cave.
And of course the merchants of the Temple are not far, selling that water by the gallon, in plain plastic jerricans, or "nice" ones in the shape of the Virgin... Plus medals, cards, and every possible thing that can bear the image of the grotto or the Virgin... They haven't yet had the idea of a pan bearing the image of Mary, or the grotto !!!!
No really, the post was hilarious and I checked the site, Slashfood, but it still amazes me ! I admit , I'm no better than a heathen !!! |
