You mean as a kid you were aware of what was in it? Or you just felt icky about food that made noise?
I hope when the trunk got opened only the cheese came out... But there must be something pretty good about this cheese because people continue to make it and sell it even though they assume some liability for getting arrested or paying a fine or something. _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor

I saw the maggots! My parents were born in italy and these relatives brought them across the border when they visited one week-end BUT_
there was no noise. That made it more shocking. _________________ Sharing food with another human being is an intimate act that should not be indulged in lightly

Of course, there are those wonderful French cheeses known as crottes or crottins (singular crotte or crottin) because of their resemblance to ... well, if you don't know what I mean, just Google crottin! A long time ago, my friend Marie-France explained that they taste very strong, and perhaps you can hardly bear the smell, but a little bite with a sip of the right red wine could be marvelous. I'd say that when the cheeses are really well aged, it's a bit of an acquired taste. _________________ -- BG
