Haven't tried it but this recipe from the LA Times Food Section this AM looks and sounds just wonderful. http://www.latimes.com/features/food/la-fo-sos29aug29,1,2417957.story?coll=la-headlines-food&ctrack=1&cset=true

I think, over the years, there are but a handful of times that one of the recipes that appears in Culinary SOS (that particular column) that have disappointed.

Hi Rainey--It looks beautiful, but today in San Gabriel Valley anyway, it's too darn hot! supposed to be 110F. Can't even think of that kind of tart on a day like this, even with ice cream...mmmm, ice cream....(does a Homer Simpson)....BTW, Trader Joe's has hazelnuts for about $3.50 a pound this summer--not sure for how much longer.

Where in the San Gabriel Valley? I'm in Woodland Hills and sometimes take French classes at Moorpark.
