In a few days the APEC summit is a happening in Sydney..(Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation)...there has been some discussion as to what the official themed shirt will be for the group photo..(21 leaders here including President Bush)
have some fun with this!

Heh, heh... hours of mindless fun!! I like the Dame Ednification of Bush too, but I just had to try out other combinations.... now if there was just one for Dick Cheney as well... oh, and Blair!
I hope there will be the noise of the public outside telling these 'leaders' what is thought of them. The voice of democracy is an issue bubbling under here.
Also, at the end of September at the V&A is an exhibition on postwar Forties/Fifties fashion called the Ghosts of Couture... wonder what Bush would look like in a New Look dress...?! _________________ Confusion comes fitted as standard. |

Alas! I thought you might have a bit more "democracy" where the Bush is concerned.... God knows we don't. _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor |

It is sad that even a shirt dyed in (still dripping!) tradition or culture will probably be lost on him. I'm hoping our next President has more intellectual curiousity.

Hee hee, love it! Now if only there was a site where we could dress Stephen Harper up as one of Mr. Bush's lapdogs! _________________ Vivant Linguae Mortuae!! |

Nope, that is a meat pie with sauce if I am not mistaken.
It's not just Bush who travels with a circus- when Bill Clinton went to Hanoi (at the end of his presidency) he took a pack of alsatians with him (police dogs) and booked out the Hotel Nikko (all 23 floors) with his entourage . The Vietnamese people I spoke to found it very bemusing, I remember that when the bit about the dogs was on the front page of all of the newspapers. As an aside- a single room in the Hotel Nikko cost close to the average annual income in Vietnam at the time. |

|

The Dame is a free thinker and a razor-sharp wit at that, so she has something (besides sparkle, possums!) that Bush sadly lacks, and it's not the gladioli. With any luck, if he makes any more comparisons with Vietnam or suggests we should have stayed longer (or at least till he sobered up and came back from his AWOL jaunt so he didn't miss the "good" parts), Dame Edna will have something to say about it.
Actually, I'm not sure he's 100 percent "back" yet--Anyone at age 60 who goes running out in the 100+ degree heat in Texas in August, makes all his out-of-shape aides do likewise, and then claims to feel no pain probably IS feeling no pain... In any case, the costume for him, and the one I don't see here, is the chic little number with the tar and feathers. Maybe Dame Edna can refer us to her tailor? |

Yes, sadly, it does. (referring, of course, to the imperialistic ambitions as though all of history wouldn't have told us it's doomed to failure and our consciences wouldn't tell us it's simply wrong) _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor |

Since the Dame's name has been invoked, I thought one of her own recipes might be of interest http://www.slashfood.com/2007/08/30/dame-ednas-aftermath-quiche/ _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor |

Don't know why. She's quite specific about eliminating all the broken glass and ashes and nasty bits.
Really! What more could you want? _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor |
