Fantastic!

Not nearly as funny or adorable but I offer this up for discussion and/or debate: http://scienceblogs.com/worldsfair/2007/10/redefining_the_candy_hierarchy.php

Those bottom-tier "anonymous brown globs that come in black and orange wrappers" might be my favorites for halloween next to candy corn. Maybe it's just because I over-indulge in the top tier candies throughout the year...

Love the "hotdog". Someone suggested I use my dog's cone (left over from surgery) to create a Queen Elizabeth costume or a giant flower...good ideas both, but I'm lucky to have finished my daughter's costume, much less make one for the dog too.

Hee hee, one of my favourite TV shows, Little Mosque On the Prairie, about a small group of Moslems living in small town Saskatchewan will, in tonights episode, attempt to enter the spirit of the thing--but with an Islamic twist--HALAL O WE'EN!

Everything on Little Mosque is a disaster waiting to happen! Very Happy The mosque itself is situated in the disused Anglican church hall--fully with the support of the Anglican minister who needs the revenue and likes to have someone with whom to discuss the vagaries of being a spiritual leader. It's great fun--now into it's second season. Don't know why it hasn't sold to foreign markets yet but wouldn't be surprised if it did soon! It cheerfully goes after everyone's little prejudices Muslim and Non-Muslim alike.

David, We've been watching "Slings & Arrows" (a Canadian tv production about a Shakespeare company in a small town)(getting it from Netflix) and JUST LOVING IT! I'm guessing it's something you watched when it was on...

When I see the quality of this show and compare it to most American TV, I just feel so frustrated! The only things we watch with any regularity are on our Public Broadcasting System (PBS) - Masterpiece Theater and Mystery! are both British productions. We pay for cable but the only benefit we get from that is the Jon Stewart Show. Oh yes - I like the decorating shows which I get to watch about once a month - in a good month. And I like the food channel, but I don't get to see much that's good on that. Rachel Ray and Semi-Homemade are what's on when I get home form work - and I'm not going there!

I'm going to see if I can get Little Mosque from Netflix. Any other good Canadian TV you can turn us on to? We have three discs left on Slings and Arrows and I don't know what we'll do when they're done! Crying or Very sad I've become quite fond of the characters - even Oliver the ghost!

Before I retired (3 years ago) I had worked evenings for many many years, thereby missing prime-time TV shows. So now I am very lucky--when I see re-runs of Seinfeld, Frasier, Friends, Will and Grace--I'm usually seeing them for the first time.

Arrrghh thanks for reminding me Donna---I never saw Slings and Arrows and wanted to--will remember to rent it! My other favourite Canadian comedy is Corner Gas, set in the fictional Saskatchewan town of Dog River. Gentle subversive comedy--much like Little Mosque but in it's 5th year. Yeah, they are both set in Saskatchewan---just guess where I was born? And Corner Gas is available on the Comedy Network in the U.S..

Hey Rainey---if you ever do find Corner Gas---I used to date the younger sister of the Janet Wright, the woman who plays Brent's mother, Emma.
