I have a Parisian friend who has just turned one room in her lovely Montmartre apartment into a B&B. She speaks English and sees that as a key to the market. The question is, where does she advertise it? If it were an entire apartment, I'd immediately tell her to use VRBO.com. But I have no idea where potential American or Brit tourists would go to find a B&B experience in Paris.

Anyone have any suggestions I could pass on to her?

Thanks.

Randy

Craigs List
FUSAC

Any other english speaking magasines or newsletters that you can find.

If she lives in Montmartre she should know which ones to go to for advertising. There are heaps of free publications.

Hi Randy,
Great 'hood if I do say so myself! Very Happy
La Mairie de Paris (the mayor's office) has recently created a network for Paris B&Bs. I'm not exactly sure what the conditions are to join but here's the website: http://www.hotesqualiteparis.fr/.

Perhaps your friend will be interested in this video interview (in French) of a woman who runs a B&B in Montmartre.

As an aside, I'll add that the (charming) interviewer is Maxence's cousin. Smile

Thank you all. I've passed the information along to my friend.

Clothilde, I had never seen the Mairie site. Very good idea and lots of appealing choices. I can't say the programmer did a great job. It's flashy, but searching is cumbersome. I like the sites where you can put in multiple search criteria, like price, # of persons, and neighborhood, all at once.
