A few minutes ago I was browsing the forum...as I love to do...have done for years now! And I got to thinking about how signatures are selected/chosen...
Way back I think I didn't have one...'n then...one day..I came across the Gleeson quote and it knocked ma socks off.."the world is much more elaborate than the nerves of our eye can tell us"..
reminded me of something a friend of Stevie Wonder's said...in a documentary about the making of "Songs in the Key of Life"...from memory it was a comment about Stevie not being burdened with sight...perhaps that wondrous 6th sense comes in to play...
There's David's: Vivant Linguae Mortuae!! ~ soooooooooooo David
'n I'm ever so curious about AnthonyStanley11's "Ship it!" ~ there's a story behind that one methinks...
would love to know the stories behind the selections...the floor is all yours _________________ "I've never accepted the external appearance of things as the whole truth. The world is much more elaborate than the nerves of our eye can tell us." - James Gleeson |

Ha ha, oh Madame! Thanks for noting the signature. Not much of a story there, as you know I'm a bookseller and although I don't deal in antiquarian books when I saw that on a sweatshirt the sheer gleeful irony of it struck my quirky sense of humour and I had to have the sweatshirt--which I do wear at work--and used it as my signature. Hope to come up with something new in the future! _________________ Vivant Linguae Mortuae!! |

Mine is just a plea for tenderness, because most of the time the world leaves me staggering with sheer confusion. Tho' my email signature is Venite Speranza or Come Hope.
I still remember David's previous signature... but then I'm a big Shakespeare fan, so I would.
Tho' Bibo ergo sum is good too. I drink therefore I am! _________________ Confusion comes fitted as standard. |

I will always stand by my old signature Griffin! "Love is not love that alters when it alteration finds!"
Melinda, rather than change your signature--I bet there is some wonderful needy four legged friend out there looking for you right now. _________________ Vivant Linguae Mortuae!! |

I truly try to live by mine. But I am very fond of Erin's:"It's watery....and yet there's a smack of ham." It just makes me smile. _________________ Live as if to die tomorrow. Learn as if to live forever.

Melinda,
Make my cats half the person I think I am?
Or with 8 cat legs do you have a rare cat-spider?
David,
Yes, I'd stand by that one too. _________________ Confusion comes fitted as standard. |

Erin..it might make you giggle..however, our daughter who is a vegetarian might not so much giggle as.......now where is the icon that best represents "I'm feeling rather ill."????
Am enjoying this signature chat...'n still wondering about the significance of "Ship it!" _________________ "I've never accepted the external appearance of things as the whole truth. The world is much more elaborate than the nerves of our eye can tell us." - James Gleeson |

I think mine expresses my looser side, which usually loses to my uptight side. I need to just live and eat like a high class beach bum sometime soon. _________________ There is only one way to die- With a full stomach and a good tan. |

My Yahoo email sez, "Don't get saucy with me, Bearnaise."
I wonder what that sez about me...? _________________ There is only one way to die- With a full stomach and a good tan. |
