I'm seriously reconsidering my friendship with Daniel!

1 pound ground beef
1/4 cup peanut butter
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp grated onion
1/3 cup milk
a suitable amount of crushed corn flakes (seriously, it says that)
6 hot dog buns
mustard, relish

mix together the first 5 ingredients. Turn out onto board sprinkled with crushed corn flakes. Shape into 10 X 6 inch rectangle. Cut with hot knife (I think of hotknifing in an entirely different context) into 6 long 'fingers'. Brush with oil and fry until cooked and crisp. Serve in heated hot dog buns with mustard and relish.

(truth be told I might try these!!!!)

Not so weird, David.

Think about a beef satay with peanut dipping sauce. Same sort of flavors.

Personally, I'd skip the hot dog bun and put this on a stick.

My one real concern would be getting the p-nut butter evenly distributed without overworking the meat.

As to "a suitable amount," I love it. When is the last time you followed a breading recipe in which what was in the bowl, and what wound up coating the food, was the same. I've been convinced for a long time that when it says "1 cup bread crumbs" they pulled the number out of thin air.

I think that many of us have 60s food trauma, so that any of those ingredients like canned soup or cereals give us the willies. (I thought I would use 60s slang to keep us in the mood.)
