Hi! I'm new to this board and I need help from anyone who can help translate English to French. I'm having a baby shower for my sister and brother-in-law and I'd like to make a label for the different dishes we'll be having. I'd like to put the English and French names of the food. French because the theme of her nursery will be Babar the elephant, which is written by a French author.
Here are the foods:
Asian noodles
Shanghai spring rolls
Smoked salmon-wasabi tea sandwiches
Milano cookies

Thanks!!
Smile
Mina

This is how much of a pain I am:
I googled Jean de Brunhoff AFTER I submitted that last comment, and found out that he was indeed FRENCH. So sorry. I have been mislead for years by those around me. Very very sorry.

Alisa - That's okay, we love you just the way you are! (At least, I do.) Smile

1amore - Here's a translation:

Asian noodles = nouilles asiatiques
Shanghai spring rolls = rouleaux de printemps de Shanghai
Smoked salmon-wasabi tea sandwiches = petits sandwiches saumon fumé et wasabi
Milano cookies = biscuits milanais

Hope that helps!

1amore ~ Babar! if that's the theme of the nursery, do you know the book "Babar's Gallery"? A truly remarkable children's book ~ one of my favourites. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying it. This from a review:

Babar and Celeste are opening an art gallery, but their children are apprehensive about how to behave. However, it doesn't take long for them to start 'reading' the pictures and pick out all the things that they like. The book catalogues classic paintings through history, from Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa to Vincent Van Gogh's Self Portrait, Edvard Munch's The Scream and Jackson Pollock, but all with one striking difference - the subjects are elephants. A colourful and accessible introduction to fine art.

Maybe a welcome-to-the-world book...

say hi to your sister and her husband! all the best from Australia..Oz hugs
