I don't like to Double Post, but this is a separate issue.

Cornette: Twice now, I've posted avatars, once last night and one a couple of minutes ago. I hit "Submit", they show up on a couple of posts, and then, suddenly, when I'm writing another post, the avatar is just gone, with a little X in the box.

I'm done for today. I've got some techy friends that might be able to help me by standing behind my shoulder. I just grabbed a Smilie from a board and stuck it on there.

Thanks for ALL of your help, Doll!

I know. Believe me I know.
But you did just fine and you have a great Avatar.
If you open the door again some day and you need help, just ask.

Cornette
p.s. Maybe you forgot to begin the link to your Avatar with http:// ???

Oh, trust me....I'll be asking....begging for your help, soon!

I'm just so embarrassed to NOT be able to grasp the same technology that my client's 7 year olds know, blind-folded, that I attempt to learn to upgrade my knowledge.

But, the problem is, that the people who KNOW what's going on, have a base sense of knowledge that skips over those of us that know virtually nothing. So, when I've had real life friends say, "Just do thisandthisandthat...", I just look at them and say, "Hey, Stacie! I'm not an IT for a computer site, okay!?" Rolling Eyes And computer programs also have an assumption of some knowledge, so that doesn't help either.

When I get bored with the omelet guy, I'll ask for your help. There's a dripping ice cream cone that I really want but can't seem to manipulate it.

You're a star for answering me so many times, especially on a Sunday!

Thanks so much for setting this up, Clotilde and for all your help, Cornette. I must admit that I clicked on the forum wondering what a food site had to do with a hindu deity, but now I found out, this is fun!

Yes, JustMe, if it's not the Ozone Layer to worry about, it's finding the right avatar!

My partner, Sally, would LOVE the one that you chose...it's Martini Time every night at her house!

I'm so glad that Clotilde agreed to add the avatars; it makes the board a little more fun to see what folks chose to represent themselves. I thought the fish were fun (not too food oriented, but the other animated ones I wanted to use were over 80 pixels.) Look for me changing my avatar frequently, as I try out ones that I find that will fit.

But hey, I'm loving the new look. Thanks, Clotilde!

Yes. It really is very nice Clotilde. And you all have great Avatars.

Look for a lot of food Avatars here
http://www.avatarity.com/

Most of them are 100 x 100 but you know how to receize them now. Very Happy

To receize the Animated ones is a little different. I am not even sure if I know how to do that. I never stop at not knowing. It makes me mad.

But let me tell you a little secret.
Besides 4 computers and some additional knowledge I have a IT specialist in the house.
And he can cook too.

Cornette

Cornette: I'm awarding you my "Class Clown Award"; I have to make sure that my tea cup is firmly placed on the counter when I read one of your posts! Laughing

Your "secret" is safe with me...sh-h-h-h-h..... I won't reveal that you have 'in house' IT help.

And thanks for the link; I'll be checking it out.

Cornette: That's exactly where I found this one...avatarity.com

As for me, ...I am the computer expert in my house...but I've just spent 4 hours trying to fix mine....to no avail....I need that martini now. Actually...I don't drink martinis, per se, but I love my cosmopolitans! I found a few wine avatars but I'll save them for later.

Good, now we can have some more fun with these Avatars.

That's me, or at least my image of me created with an avatar engine.

Hunk.

Well, usually I'm more on the Nerd end of the scale.

I remember when a few years ago, Anthony Edwards of ER was getting all this attention and elderly women were approaching me making references.

Now, elderly women say things like: "How do you get your head to shine like that? It looks so clean."

I never heard of John Locke. The word H.U.N.K. made me Google.

Now I know.

Oh, Good Lord, Cornette! If you found THIS John Locke

vs. THIS "John Locke"

,

than you're mightly confused by my referencing "John" in relationship to Sarape's bald pate!

It seems like I'm the only 'kid' who will admit on THIS board to watching Trash TV (Like Neilson Top #10). Terry O'Quinn, an amazing character actor for years, portrays John Locke, the man on LOST with a "mysterious past". But, perhaps that describes Sarape, too?!
