I never thought of disposable baking dishes. Great idea. Luckily I have dishwasher called Bryan.

This is where it started so I thought I'd do a bit of resurrecting myself. My resolution was to bake a cake from scratch and I've done it close to 10 times this year. The last was a double layer chocolate cake for our son's birthday-----thanks Erin, the recipe was a total success--and so easy!!

Might as well get my 2 cents worth in though I wasn't here at the turn of the year. I recently joined a health club/weight loss center...my new year's resolution just a little late (and yes, I know...it's always everyone's resolution).

Anyhow...my resolution that started approximately 9 weeks ago revolves mostly around breakfast: the most important meal of the day. In the past few years I have had a toasted bagel almost every morning for breakfast. I find I can't eat as soon as I get up so I would buy a bagel on my way to work and eat it at my desk. I love bagels! The cafe across the street sells the most wonderful muesli bagels. Yum!

Well, that has all changed: haven't had a bagel in 9 weeks! What I have every morning is a "smoothie" aka protein shake. The day I joined the club the girl made one for me right then & there which is good because if I had read the ingredients I don't think I would have bothered. I am now hooked. I make one (actually 2: my daughter likes them too) every morning & take it to work. It really only takes 2 minutes of my time & I am sure it had contributed greatly to my weight loss. Those nasty bagels...taste good but go right to your hips!

My smoothie consists of vanilla soy milk (never drank soy milk before this), whey protein powder, flax oil (yep...you got it...it's the requisite fat in this recipe), frozen fruit & half a banana (if I have them). I usually mix frozen mangos and berries but sometimes I'll make just a mango/banana one. I tell you: the best thing for breakfast since eggs benedict. Ohhhh...haven't had eggs benedict in awhile. If I have a smoothie 6 days a week then I can always have those eggs benedict on the 7th day, right??

David,
I am so glad you enjoyed the recipe! I saw it and thought of you.
