Aw gosh, thanks for the interest! Now a huge apology. Judy beat me to it I might add. For some unknown reason I put .ca instead of .com for the website so, corrected, as Judy found, is:

Lucky you, sarape, to still have a few. There's so little left with any individuality or personality left in LA. And what there is, is prohibitively expensive and located in Beverly Hills and the Westside. It's very, very sad that one has to be ultra-rich anymore to have any experience that isn't the pre-digested corporate variety.
I loved all the little mom & pop shops and restaurants in Vancouver. And so many of them were kitchen oriented stores -- my idea of heaven, gadget whore that I am. I miss them. Here, to be able to find the same thing, you have to go to Sur La Table or Williams-Sonoma and pay an unconscionable amount.
In sum, I join you in saying "Hooray to David and the entrepreneurs of the world!" _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor
That's really sad Rainey, Ottawa is still blessed with a number of independent bookstores and a number of little kitchen shops, and they are both a lot of fun to browse about in.
Sarape, thanks for the appreciation! (although in my case a "mom and mom" or "pop and pop" store would be more accurate _________________ Vivant Linguae Mortuae!!
Love the mom and mom or pop and pop (to quote you) bookstore concept too. Much nicer than the impersonal big chains.
It is great to see a photo! Now I have a face to put to the posts.
On the autumn/spring topic...... I am really enjoying the definate seasons here. Living in Sydney the seasons did tend to blend a bit and we missed the really dramatic colours of the trees changing etc.
Today it was so warm and lovely. I wore capri pants and a short sleeved top and sandals when I went to lunch today.... and no cardigan. We sat outside and had the most scrumptious crepes. Best thing was - NO FLIES!!!!!!! Al fresco dining without the good old "Aussie salute" keeping the flies off your face and dinner. _________________ If you cannot feel your arteries hardening, eat more cheese.
