We are off to Paris for our anniversary the first week-end in November. We will stay in the 6th Arr, and are looking for extraordinary restaurants. We like to eat great food. In our last trip we are our best meal at Helene Darose(sp?) before she got stars.

Well, I am not sure what your definition of "great" is but my websight "i heart paris" has a few good recommendations.

The two I think I like best are L'Endroit and Le Caveau de l'Isle. These aren't fancy places but they do offer a nice atmosphere, good food and service. Here are the links...

Another classic French Bistro is La Fountaine de Mars

This is the main address to my site...

This thread should be moved to the Paris forum.

Harry- Welcome, you lucky guy you! How I wish I were on my way to Paris!

I see sarape has indicated that there's a spot where you'll find more info on traveling. You might want to check it out but the important thing is that you feel welcomed! Wink

Thanks for your response the restaurants sound teriffic.

I'm new to this blog, and love it. There are so many new things to discover that it is hard to decide where to go first.

I have no idea of how to move my topic to the Paris subject so if someone out there knows how to do it then please do it.

We are sorry to have missed the NY get together, but it was fathers day, and we live north of the city, so the timeing didn't work.

If someone puts together another one let me know.

I'm in awe of you technically proficient people.

November is a wondeful time to visit Paris. The crowds are certainly down but the weather is still good.

I highly recommend Le Villaret in the 11th. Just went there two months ago. The restaurant gets a 27 in food from Zagats, when the best in Paris only gets a 28.

It's a small neighborhood place, the usual tight tables, great wine list with reasonable prices, and wonderful wonderful food.
