Although I am an architect and I'm a bookstore addicted I had never bought this magazine - Architectural Digest- before. When I went to my local newsagent this lunchtime, to buy some other architecture magazines, I've discovered the November issue of the Architectural Digest (which I thought to be an american magazine) whose cover title was "Numéro Gourmet". And the one I got is written in french, which really surprised me.
I advise this magazine to everyone of you who, as myself, are into the "arts de la table". Never thought that an architecture & design magazine could make such an interesting edition about FOOD and their makers. Try to get it quickly as the December issue has already been out.

Ooouuu... architecture! My fav. Wink

I tried looking that issue up online. I saw one 'back issue' on sale on eBay (already??) and it wasn't the same cover you describe.

Maybe their Euro version is different. Here it's that way with Vogue. Vogue Italy. Vogue UK. Vogue Australia. Vogue France. All different from Vogue USA.

I guess we missed out.

I love Architectural Digest. I used to save copies for different interiors (I managed a faux painting and mural biz at one time).

Now I'm big into Spanish Colonial as it pertains to Mexico, etc. Haciendas and all that. I love the heaviness of Spanish Colonial and Mexican furniture. It feels so solid. There's a scene in the first Zoro film with Antonio Banderas of a room that just absolutely took my breath away!

All that red and those high ceilings and interior courtyards and arched walkways. To die for.

Yesterday I was looking up hacienda wineries in Chile. Some of the buildings were just astonshingly beautiful. I would adore going to Chile and visiting the wineries there.

I was in Portugal 3 years ago (almost) in Lagos in the Algarve. Divine. The food was unreal. The yolks of eggs were orange. The ham sent me reeling. The local wine was the best I'd ever had. Almond and olive trees everywhere. Love Portuguese architecture as well. Wanted to design some jewelry around the ornate window frames, but got sidelined....

Perhaps later....

Very Happy
