|

My French class is taking a field trip - lucky us - to Paris in May. We will staying at the aparment of the belle-parents of one of the ladies. I would like to take a hostess gift but I don't have much of an idea what that should be. My problem is that of most of the things I can think to take from either the US or the Netherlands, the French version is arguably better. I plan to take a few jars of my homemade confitures. My other thought is a smallish ball of farmer cheese from a farm just over the border in Germany. The dairy farmer has an organic shop that we like to go to and we think the cheese is yummy. Anyway, does anyone have any better ideas? |

Oh, I just thought to mention that I have in the confiture selection Chocolate Raspberry Jam and Confiture Belle-Helene (pears in chocolate) both from the Mes Confitures book. I also have some quince jelly. I should be able to get some rhubarb to make something new. I could also make something like champagne jelly. And I live in the asparagus capital of europe so I'm getting ready to make some pickled aspagaus. |
