I'm going to Paris next week for vacation (hooray!) and I've begun to complile a long list of places to eat, shop for kitchenware, etc,. but would welcome all suggestions of your favorite places to eat, shop for food, food markets, etc.

Suggestions for eating need not be fancy or fashionable, but tasty. Extra points if there are suggestions for places with good vegetarian options.

My favorite restaurant in Paris, which does often seem to have veggie options, is Les Dessous de la Robe. You can read about it on my blog here: http://noshesthoughtsreves.blogspot.com/2005/04/les-dessous-de-la-robe.html

check out David Lebowitz' blog he has lots of good ideas and runs food walking tours. Clotilde has a link to his blog on her front page.

I hear that the President Wilson (16e) and the Saxe Breteuil (7e) markets are both good.

Maybe someone else can confirm this.

Try BE "boulangepicerie" in the 8th. It's very foodie oriented.

There's also, of course, Hediard and Fauchon, both at the Place de la Madeleine.

And I love the food at the Bon Marche gourmet store in the 6th. It's like a museum of fabulous food. And a park just outside to eat it in.

One of the best lists I've come across is ofcourse Clotilde's "My Paris is Better than Yours" but I imagine you have already seen it. Just in case...
