Landscape with Stars, ca. 190506
Henri-Edmond Cross (French, 18561910)
Watercolor over pencil on paper; 9 5/8 x 12 5/8 in. (20.5 x 32.5 cm)
this was today's featured work of art..
am thinking of van Gogh's stars..
the stars of Henri-Edmond's imagination..
the stars of your imagination...
all our stars..
may they shine particularly brightly this evening..as the moon over Penrith is the roundest..most pearl-like it's ever ever been...this evening..
hugs to you who look to the stars and beyond...happy travels.. _________________ "I've never accepted the external appearance of things as the whole truth. The world is much more elaborate than the nerves of our eye can tell us." - James Gleeson |

Thank you Madame, another gem. Very nice. Have added the pic a day to my favourites so I can see more. _________________ If you cannot feel your arteries hardening, eat more cheese. If you can, drink more red wine. Diet is just "die" with a "t" on the end. Exercise is walking into the kitchen. |

Thanks Madame. Have given your love to Paris this evening when we went for a slow stroll around Montmartre. Absolutely glorious evening, temperature is balmy, the birds were all singing and the smell of spring was everywhere.
Give Sydney a big hug for me and tell it I will be back for a visit in August. Be good to see everything and everyone again after 2 years. _________________ If you cannot feel your arteries hardening, eat more cheese. If you can, drink more red wine. Mme Shawshank,
Have you done the My Met Museum thing yet?
You register and then you can choose from the collection to create your own collection of images. When I was doing my Museum Studies MA I took great delight in making exhibitions from their collections.
The www.nga.gov site is a good one too. You can not only bring up the picture but look at details - great for pix with gorgeous costumes in!
Tho' I have to admit that the usual way I see stars is when I am not looking where I am going, hem, hem! Trees and lamp posts leap out at me in ambush... or am-tree in the case of trees. _________________ Confusion comes fitted as standard. |
