Oh God, I just disproved my own thesis but coming back to life!

I have been spending vast time in the garden growing tomatoes and okra. I am fine and really enjoying retirement: no surprise.

I've modified my gruel recipe: adding onion powder, garlic powder, tomato paste, pepper along with the traditional -- corn meal, brown rice, oats, egg, banana, milk.

It is really now more like risotta-polenta.

Happy to see you still here Simona. I knew Rainey would be here.

Sarape, so good to hear from you. Like gingerpale, you're one of the reasons I was attracted to this gracious and diverse forum in the first place. Thanks for coming back!

But, I too believe strongly in the supernatural. Energy travels like none of us can comprehend (yet). Let's have your skepticism, and hotly debate it too!

Nice to see you back Sarape. Now if only Dairy Queen would make an appearance.

Thanks for the welcome on my return to C&Z. Since I'm really not a gourmet and not seeking recipes, it was easy to ignore C&Z. Though I did miss most of the regular members and the fun associated with C&Z.

Still no Dairy_Queen. She was like a meteor who had a brief but blazzing career here. That woman could but thorough!

I'll welcome hearing the mystics and their stories. It has never happened to me, so I'll remain skeptical.

Coming from southern California, where buxom produce is so abundant, to the East Coast, where summer brings but a narrow, short-lived selection, I often find myself reminiscing about things like tomatoes, avocados, mangoes, and figs. In fact, I never had an avocado or a fig, or an eggplant till I first moved to California years back.

Anyhow, I dreamt about bushels of figs last night. Plump black mission figs and even made-up (I think) varieties. I should go re-read the fig thread in Recipes.
