I like statistics.
So from time to time I'll feed this topic with some of my "observations" concerning this forum.
Today: the 10 (11)most popular topics:
1. Backyrd gardens 178 posts
2. Let's go tothe movies 161 posts
3. BBM 144 posts
4. Comfort food 141 posts
5. Tell us where you live 121 posts
6. A special request 106 posts
7. Changing eating habits 106 posts
8. Soccer.. I mean Football 101 posts
9. Favourite Icky foods 100 posts
10. Brookback Mountain 94 posts

11. Wedding feast ( I loved this post) 89 posts

What I find very interesting, but not surprising from my personal point of view is, that 9 out of the 11 most favourite topics are not connected with food . That means that we are actually interested more in the human, personal aspects of our lives; we are ready to reveal a lot about ourselves and share; we are willing to listen and are interested in what others have to say about themselves or about their opinions/views.
I find that marvellous, and I know- and I can speak only for myself- that it's one of the reasons I'm still on this forum.

No more war, maybe there is still some hope ( well, that's for the skeptics thread)

Here's a number for you, Simona--you're one-of-a-kind cool!

What a nice post-- thank you. This is my first (and only) forum, and I too have noticed you can't talk about food ALL the time! I notice little "feuds", "in" jokes, get embarrassed when I say the wrong thing, let my housework slide, sometimes if it's late my eyelid starts to twitch-- yes it's hell, but I want to stay here too..

Writing and reading about cooking and food is to me like reading about sex or looking at pictures of food is like looking at naked bodies.

That's why the "other things" is more interesting.

Thank you folks.

Sarape dear, maybe you'll try also the other way round?
My question is : Do you also cook after reading the books? Embarassed Wink Confused Cool Laughing

No more war. More of the "other things". I mean cooking, of course.

You mean after reading Shakespeare, The Joys of Cooking, or Penthouse? Wink

Seriously, I don't find it satisfying to look at pictures of food either before or after cooking. And of course, looking at pictures of naked women after...... is not interesting for at least a half-a-day, now at my age.

Now I know I'm approaching the limits of decorum on C&Z

Congratulations to David, he has reached 1000 posts! He's the third one to enter the "thousands" club, with Madame following close by.
But of course, nobody can even dream of dethroning Rainey, the one and only C&Z forums Queen ( you do deserve an Oscar too..) , . She will soon open the "two tousand" Platinum club!! I believe it's an unique phenomenon in the blog world, and Clotilde ( and Rainey) should be proud of it.

And now, to the 10 most popular topics as for today:(it's Oscar season, isn't it?)
1. let's go to the movies - 331 posts, and still going on.
2. Backyard gardens -178, non active lately, maybe now with
spring around the corner, it will bloom again
3. A special request- 168 posts - a most special and unique thread
4. comfort foods -141 posts , not active
5.tell us about where you live -124 posts. Maybe the newcomers could
revive this forum?
6.favourite icky foods -123 posts . well , we are mostly food lovers...
7.which cookbooks do you use most -121 posts . I guess after
Clotilde's book will be released, that will change..
8.the joy of meeting c&zers face to to face - 120 posts . God bless the
australians, they are great travelers..waiting for more photos
9.changing eating habits -106 posts , Well I suppose we cant's change
that much anymore
10.Believers and skeptics -104 posts . I'm still skeptic, what about you?

====
11. What is foie gras -103 posts. The tastiest most controversial forum

That's all for today, I have some other statistics on my mind, but I'll leave them for the next celebration occation.

No more war, more friendship.

Congratulations David.

Like others this is the only forum I'm involved in. I've looked at a NZ food site forum and the posters all seem so boring after the C&Z crew.

I think our love of food brought us together but it is the people we've met here bring us back.

You are right Barbara, ultimately, it's the people who are "making" the forums.
My thoughts are with you,
Simona

Hey gang, thanks for pointing out I'd hit a milestone! Hadn't noticed it myself. C & Z is sorta like my own little cyberhome. And I'm very grateful for it!

Wishing you many more thousands, and all the best from our part of the globe.

No more war, more thousand-aires!!!

PS. It's a secret , but somebody is approaching the "two thousands" club. Shhhh, don't tell anybody, I'll reveal it in due time!!!
