I'm going to Vienna for the first time ever in a little over a month's time. I've already got the museum/sightseeing side of things sorted out, but if anyone has restaurant/cafe/other food recommendations, I'm all ears! (For reference, I'll be staying just outside the Ringstrasse near Mariahilferstrasse and the Museumsquartier.)
Thanks in advance for any and all advice! |

I do hope a certain medievalist will be joining you! Have a fabulous time and wrap up warm 'cos if it's anything like it is here, you'll need to. _________________ Confusion comes fitted as standard. |

Rachel! How fortuitous! I just received this link from a friend this very day, and I'd kill to go to one of these and eat tafelspitz. Heck I'd order it just to say it!

Hmmm, that doesn't seem to work. Anyway there are 3 Plachutta restaurants in Vienna so maybe you could check them out and see if any are convenient. _________________ Vivant Linguae Mortuae!! |

David, thanks for the links... alas, I am a vegetarian (probably should have mentioned before ) so won't be able to enjoy Tafelspitz, but I did enjoy reading about the history of both the dish and the restaurant! I might check out Plachutta anyway and see if they have something I can eat... |
