I would like to buy a French cookbook for a couple as a wedding present - she is French and he is Anglo-Italian, but speaks French. The trouble is, I don't know any good French cookbooks! Any suggestions for something gift-appropriate from the French readers here?

I guess it all depends on what they would like ? a practical book, a beautiful book ? I guess I can shamelessly recommand one, of the beautiful variety, but with interesting recipes. It's called "Cueillez, c'est prêt", and the idea is to use fresh produce as much as possible, plants, flowers, vegetables, mushrooms, nuts, herbs, you name it. I do mention it because my brother took most of the pictures, many of the outdoor shots in our own ancestral woods, near the Perigord ! But the pictures are really georgeous, and the recipes are original.
here is a link to the amazon site
There is also the "Larousse du chocolat", by Pierre Hermé, and all the books he published. You can find them on amazon.
