Hi there,

I'm going to be in Paris for the last two weeks of October and am now (I know it's a bit last minute) thinking of cancelling my hotel reservation and renting an apartment. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm flexible as to area but as I'm traveling alone, would like something relatively safe and centralized.

Thanks!

Do you speak french?

Try google with: chambre d'hote Paris

It gives you some nice appartments to choose from. You might find some english speaking sites too..

well, I'm sorry to contradict you, but "chambre d'hotes" aren't rental flats, but bed& breakfast.... what you should google is "appartements à louer" ; you also have two hotel chains which provide short term accomodation in the form of one-or two bedroom flats, which are : Pierre et Vacances and Citadines Very Happy

we have dealt with lodgis.com and been pleased (don't know how short their short term is, but I think they also have vacation rentals)

I have found that Craigs List Paris is full of vacation rentals, as is FUSAC on line, and Franglo.com has a few as well. good luck!

yes, definately rent. Much cheaper than a hotel and you can pretend for a little moment, that you live in Paris. Try www.vrbo.com (owner rentals). I've stayed in apartments in Rome and Paris through this site and loved it!
