I think if I've got any money left after the renow of the kitchen I'm going to go down there and get all new herbs and spices for a new beginning.
In case anyone's on the south end of LA and didn't know, it's there just waiting for you. _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor
I followed the link you provided and discovered that there's a store 10 minutes from my house in Dallas. But I'm afraid I must claim ignorance on Penzeys. Can you tell us a little more about them?

I provided the link so people who weren't familiar could get more info than I can supply but the short version is it's a retailer that sells an enormous variety of very, very fresh spices and herbs. They have, for example, a number of varieties of cinnamon alone.
They're from the mid-West and, until recently, I thought their only retail stores were right there. I knew they were going to open a remote store because they asked people to write in an "vote" for their areas a year or two ago. Now, it seems, they have a number of retail stores around the country.
There isn't so much info about the retail stores on the website, but I'm guessing you can smell each of the varieties instead of just picking a name out of a catalogue.
Bottom line: they're turnover is very rapid so the quality of the spices they sell is top of the line. _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor
