Help! Does anyone know a good place to take an old Hobart K5-A mixer for service? I cannot find anyone locally, the mixer is too old (1950's). I WILL NOT part with this mixer! I don't want a new one, I have heard they are not as good as the vintage ones. This one was my mother's.

Hi Sarah,

I love vintage mixers too! I am the proud owner of a 1952 K5-A model, as well as a newew lime green Artisan. I like my old one better! It is much quieter than the new one.

There are several places you can take your mixer for reconditioning. If it is made after 1982 Kitchenaid Company will usually service it. If it is pre-1982, AtomicEraMachine.net does refurbishing and repair on vintage Kitchenaids. If you live in Canada, Phil's Appliance Science does mixer restorations. He focuses mainly on Sunbeam mixers.

Hope this helps!
Tami
