As part of a long standing deal between my wife and me, I've finally convinced my wife to go on a camping holiday... we're going to be staying near St Jean-de-Monts in the Vendee.

Can anyone help us with good things/places to eat? I understand that Vendee ham is excellent, along with the local white beans - but what else, and where should I go, what should I drink?
If anyone knows good restaurants/markets/suppliers in the area, I'd love to hear from you!

Now that is the kind of camping I could enjoy--the kind with markets, and restaurants! Very Happy Pity poor Judy: http://chocolateandzucchini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2005

LOL, thanks gingerpale. We always take nearly all our food with us when we go camping as we're usually so far from anywhere we can buy anything.

Richard, your camping trip sounds wonderful - a modern-day equivalent to foraging or hunter-gathering.

I love camping but we tend to camp near a town and then eat in fancy restaurants.
