Somewhere I came across a link that was an informative resource about donating a car to charity. Many charities provide their own guidelines, but this particular site gave general guidelines that allow you to maximize the impact of such a donation, as well as protect your own interests & liabilities.

For the life of me, I cannot find that link - does anyone know of it? A google search turned up a lot of "donate to us" sites, but not these general guidelines.

If you know what I'm talking about, I'd sure appreciate a link!

(And think of the extra room in my driveway...that would be awesome!)

While you're at it, check on the bone vides of the "charity". We did that once with a car that had been such a disappointment I didn't want to deal with it anymore. Turns out the "charity" was later investigated by law enforcement and found to be a complete fraud. Shocked

Worth organizations also solicit cars so I don't mean to tar everyone with the same brush. Just suggesting a word of caution I wish I'd exercised.

Thanks, Rainey. Most likely we'll donate the car to Salvation Army. We've given old cars to them in the past, and I've not known of any problems.

Thanks for the note of caution, though!
