Photos of smoke? Well, ya...

Not earthshaking but I thought someone might enjoy seeing them. http://www.makezine.com/blog/archive/2007/08/smoke_photography.html?CMP=OTC-0D6B48984890

Photos of smoke-- Yikes, Rainey, I thought something had gone horribly wrong with your new kitchen! Shocked
Or you'd taken up Marlboros from the remodeling stress..
Or just a new show from the lame Food Network..

People are so creative--and ordinary things are so suprisingly beautiful!

I was looking at this
http://www.jamesrieck.com/
this morning--thought they were photos until I realized they are paintings.

My b-i-l paints in the photorealist style so I'm already familiar with that but what striking framing he/she has chosen!

Yes! I remember now you have mentioned this talent/relation before! Very cool paintings of abandoned trucks, if I remember. Dramatic but realistic--yes striking. I loved them! Like I say--beauty in familiar things.

I love the hyper-realism style, its just so incredible...

One in particular never ceases to amaze me - Ralph Goings' Airstream Trailer

It's oil on canvas for gods sake, I can't even imagine being able to do that!

oh my!

years back I recall an article about an American photographer who saw beauty in the seemingly ugly...rubbish dumps..graffiti...smoke stacks..

can't recall his name...however I do remember the stark simplicity of his images...and the outlines of his view

smoke eh!

Rainey--A professional artist who chooses trucks as his subject is pretty memorable. Besides, when you linked to them before I thought they were beautiful.
