Welcome home!!! Glad to hear you made it back safe and sound. I can only echo Georgia's wish that soon all your colleagues will be able to do the same.
Hope the settling in goes okay (as a long-term expat I know well the strangeness of returning home after a long time abroad... I can only imagine that experience is multiplied at least a hundredfold for you!) and that you make the most of your long-awaited opportunity to cook from the C&Z cookbook. If you're not tired of honey-flavoured sweets after the Honey Almond Bites, try the Pain d'Epice... |

Tamar, welcome back home.
I can just imagine what you are feasting your eyes upon, never mind your stomach!
I am doing the very same thing down here in Portland.
Happy you are safe and now well-fed,

Tamar, welcome back! I'm glad you are safe and sound and to second Griffin, glad you will be around to enjoy your C&Z cookbook. It has become a favorite of ours and feels like Clotilde is around all the time. Hope you find a permanent home soon after your integration to the normal world. _________________ "A man hath no better thing under the sun than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry." |

All these warm greetings are making me blush. Once again thank you. And I know most people would politely decline the offers of gifts. However, I am a poor single soldier and would never decline free food and hot chocolate. So when a I get an address, I'll put it out. _________________ Live as if to die tomorrow. Wonderful! Perhaps there's a base or something not too far away that would accept your mail for you so you could publicly post a safe address. Or perhaps if we said we'd like it, you'd feel OK about PMing any convenient addie.
Feel free to PM me. I'd be delighted to welcome you back! _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor |

SRK,
If I had a nickel for everytime someone asks if the puppy is mine, I would be a very rich woman. No a friend of mine sent me her picture, and I loved it so much, I had to share it with the world, so I used her for my avatar. If you could see the whole picture, she's climbing on bamboo, and my friend had labled the pic as a pole-dancing blond. _________________ Live as if to die tomorrow. Learn as if to live forever.

Welcome home, SGT Tamar
from SGT ( res. Intelligence forces ) Simona
Actually, I was released from the Res. Force about 30 something years ago. But Army Service is nostalgia. Nothing compared with your active, courageous and dangerous service, Tamar, but I sort of liked my two years in the Army. I was young....

See Tamar, offering to send you 'something' was the easy bit, trying to figure out exactly what and will it get to you without being squished, mouldy, eaten or broken into smithereens is another matter. I haven't forgot, I'm working on what to send you, ok?
I'll be able to spend more time on it after this weekend as I have a job interview tomorrow and I'm a little nervous... for a change! But once that's out of the way, I'm on the case proper.
You haven't been forgotten, honest! _________________ Confusion comes fitted as standard. |

But, Griffin, who in their right minds would ever let you go? _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor |

Oh Rainey, I'm not being let go. I was doing a temporary job which was an office job and applied for curatorial jobs. The interview tomorrow is for Assistant Curator of Decorative Art. The temp job is fine, but they are struggling for work to give me now. There is a possibility of me being back next monday but the curatorial job is what I'm trained for. _________________ Confusion comes fitted as standard. |

Griffin- I knew you weren't being let go. I meant who would let you make such a decision and leave them.
Now I can see that that reads two very different ways. Oops!
But, much more importantly, you certainly should be at a museum! My fingers will be crossed for you and for the museum that they can see what an opportunity awaits them. _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor |

Unlike dear Tamar, I am sure I am much, much too disgraceful to be a curate!! But curators have more fun - we get to 'play' with fab and old objects... crockery, silverware, furniture, glassware and even ... textiles!!
I don't know if I'll get this job, there's always lots of competition, but at least I have the interview and once it's done, I can work out what to send our beloved Sarge!! _________________ Confusion comes fitted as standard. |
