Hello Everyone! This year I am determined to make my own jam for Christmas presents. The only problem is I do not know how to make jam. I live in the UAE so it may be hard to find all the ingredients and the proper sealed jars. Still, I am going to give it a go. If any of you have some simple recipes for pear ginger jam, please send them my way. Thank you!

Hi Dalal - and welcome!
This is my Aunt Marilyn's recipe for
Pear Ginger Jam
3 Cups of cored, peeled and chopped pears
3/4 C. peeled and minced fresh ginger root (you can use food processor for this)
Juice of one lemon
1/2 C. Water
1 box of Sure Jell or other pectin
6 Cups sugar
Combine fruit, ginger, lemon juice, water and pectin and bring to a rolling boil. Add sugar, stir and bring to a rolling boil agaion. Boil one minute more, stirring continuously. The jam should coat the back of a wooden spoon. Take off heat and pour into sterilized jars. Process 10 minutes in boiling water bath.
This also works with peaches! Equally warm and yummy!
Good luck and let us know how it turns out! _________________ L'appetit vient en mangeant. -Rabelais
