Well that was fun! I remember my mother putting out tasteful little trays of loose cigarettes for guests, and having a silk scarf tied around her wrist, like a floaty signal flag, was this a fashion accessory in the fifties?
If I came upon a little vase of flowers in the refrigerator I'd assume the hostess forgot to take it out for the table, wouldn't you?
Happy Christmas to all! |

one should not serve a red vegetable next to a yellow one, which "looks unappetising".
Um, right, I'll try and remember that the next time I'm trying to impress anyone.
make bill-paying an "elegant ritual" by dressing in a fresh blouse and skirt, putting Brahms on the stereo and flowers on my desk
Hmmm, so perhaps I'd better tidy up my website 'About Me' page and remove the photo of me 'at work' in my pink dressing gown.
