While watching this with Soph...we would occasionally look at each other and nod!...at other times we simply watched and laughed..

'would you jump too?'!

don't think I ever did the 'I'll give you something to cry about.'......

Yes, it does sound a little bit like my over-protecting very loving and caring jewish mother - some of it I hear every day on the phone or when I'm visiting her ( 2-3 times a week , but she always reminds me that I "have more time for my friends than for her" ). She's 89 YO, and I'm still the little girl who has to loose weight ( she's right) , go get a decent haircut ( she's right) , go to the cosmetician ( right again) , stop biting my nails ( right, but unreal after 58 years), get out of the jeans and dress more like a 58 YO lady ( well, she has a point) , but I always will be for her the most beautiful (???) , successful (??????) unique (!!!!) and always her beloved little girl. Yes, I'll miss her and her everlasting mothering. Hope she will stay with us a little more .

No more war, vive the mothers and let live the children!!

Yup, my mother was a lot like that!! I can only say that I am soooo glad that I am not a mother or I would definitely be saying all of that... possibly not that fast or to the William Tell Overture, but definitely all of that!

Sounds like there is a story in there David...

THat clip was funny. I could have added a few other well worn phrases that my Mum used as well. My sister and I used to joke that we were going to record her one day and play it back to her..... didn't occur to us that maybe if we did what she wanted she wouldn't sound like a broken record..... Laughing
