|
|
I'm baking two things for a party tomorrow: a chocolate caramel tart (with a chocolate pate sucree crust) and the Vanilla Pecan Squares featured on Chocolate and Zucchini. Will either of these suffer from being baked one day ahead? Also, if I bake today, how should I store the final products -- refrigerator or room temp?
Thanks for any advice!

Hi Mia!
The vanilla pecan squares will do fine (store them at room-temperature in an airtight container). I'm not sure what recipe you're using for your chocolate tart, but the crust can certainly be baked one day ahead and filled the next day. And if the filling is sort of a ganache kind of filling, the whole thing can be kept for a day in the refrigerator. In passing, would love to see the caramel chocolate tart recipe if you get a chance!

Hi Clotilde ~
Thanks for the good news!
The tart is filled with caramel and toasted walnuts and covered by a layer of chocolate ganache. I will post the recipe and a few pics when all is complete!
