I don't think they'd let me in... I'd want to try the shoes on!! Actually as a former curatorial person I wouldn't dare. I did think there was one omission... the Director wasn't asked if she wore Ferragamo's! I suspect on her wages the answer would have been 'no'. I don't know any curator who could afford them, never mind the directors.

The 'rainbow' shoes for Judy Garland are his most famous tho', they are quite something. I was a little concerned at all that light being shone on the poor shoes - it's not good for them and the director should have known that.

He was definitely ripped off with the Swarovski crystals for Marilyn's shoes. I mean, they're crystals, not diamonds. I've never understood how Swarovski got so popular and so rich on mere crystals. The whole idea is that they are cheaper than real gems, but these sell for an arm and a leg.

Brand identification dear Griffin...that's why they sell for arms and legs..

as for MM's shoes...guess it's the fact that SHE wore them...

can remember standing for a long time looking at a pair of Judy Garland's W of Oz shoes at The Smithsonian..think I actually drifted through the glass and into the shoes Wink I believe there were a few pairs made for different uses...different scenes...yellow brick roading for example..

Mr Daniel Craig had quite a few Tom Ford suits made for a particular scene in the latest J Bond film...

Read that Helen Mirren has one foot larger than the other..so come Oscar night...2007 where she wore that breathtakingly beautiful Christian Lacroix dress...two pairs of shoes were available..so she could wear one shoe from each pair and be super comfortable!

Can't find a snap of them...however I did come across this in my search:

Jude, I know I'm way off topic...forgiveness requested!

I'm truly sorry Wink

Hand made shoes..to fit...oh what a joy that would be...given that I've one foot sort of substantially bigger than the other...

perhaps when I'm dressing for Oscar night...no laughter now!
