I love old cookbooks, this website is so cool. Thanks Jenyfari for the link its been added to my favourites. I found some great recipes for different hot chocolates for different times of day from the Boston Cooking School-Cookbook. I wonder why you would have different hot chocolate for reception then for yourself!
Anyway thanks again, very cool _________________ For all the best Dark Chocolate recipes, tips, information and news visit www.EverythingDarkChocolate.com |

I am addicted!!!!!!
Have spent hours on this website today looking through the old cookbooks and reading them. How fabulous.
I thank you.... although my housework was neglected, my soul and mind were nourished! Lucky my husband is away this week so I could afford to be totally immersed and forget about lunch and making a proper dinner.... _________________ If you cannot feel your arteries hardening, eat more cheese. Thank you so much!!!! I just started browsing, and the first thing that caught my eye was The Complete Confectioner. I have been looking all over for many of these old-fashioned condiments and recipes. I am so excited ----- |

Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I'd post this here....
The Old Foodie
Went googling for a recipe for clotted cream and found burnt cream, the 19th C English version of crème brulée, which sounds yummy in it's own right! A new historic food blog and a recipe index full of curiosities! (A Tarte to Provoke Courage, anyone?) _________________ Clearly it is not the lovelorn sufferer who seeks solace in chocolate, but rather the chocolate-deprived individual, who, desperate, seeks in mere love a pale approximation of bittersweet euphoria.
