You need a preserve thing (you know, the one with a rubber band between the lid) that can contain 1 liter.
You have to do this on a sunny and dry day because you cannot use weth flowers. Pick about 80 to 100 thymebranches in full bloom. The preserve thing has to be filled completely but without pressing.
The pressing is done by the 80 sugarlumbs you put on top. After that you fill the preserve thing with 1 liter jenever or wodka. Don't stir.
Close firmly and put it in a cool and dark place for about two months. After two months the liquid is golden and you put it trough a fine sieve.
Put it in bottles with a nice homemade label on it. It makes a fine gift but the best idea is to drink it yourself.
You can also do this with sage, also with the flowers.
Don't worry about the bugs because they won't survice and after two glasses you don't care anymore.
