I don't read any German (?) but I'm told these are salami-themed rugs. Good place to be standing when you're applying your bacon-like bandaid I think. http://wurstteppich.de/ Note that it comes in four yummy flavors for all your decorating needs!

Here's my best shot at a translation (corrections are greatly appreciated):
OUR INSPIRATION Perhaps your office is ready to go from bytes to bites. Check out the new carpets we introduced at the Design 2005 interiors show: German coziness in the form of the sausage carpet. We say: how about bringing a bit of gourmet fun into our rooms! Because sausage is too beautiful to only be eaten.

Designed by CoDesign, they are custom manufactured by Tuftverfahren. Each carpet is round and can be made in sizes ranging from 1-5 meters. The pile is approximately 1.8 centimeters.

Well, there's a reason for that: I forgot to copy it in. I"ll go back and see if it's still there. If it is I'll "edit" it into the original post. _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor |

One by the name of Oscar.
I'll stick with preferring the watermelon-theme dishes and place settings.
I don't buy that kind of stuff, but the watermelon plates look swift. _________________ ' She says, 'I am the glamorous type.' I said, 'So what?' |

but not for my daughter's birthday...she being the resident vegetarian!
As I looked at the rugs my memory took me way WAY back to a book..Judith Olney...
I can remember themed menus...way back in Memoryland.
A picture of a sort of chocolate and nut pate....yep it looked for all the world like salami...
chic perhaps at the time....now? ah well, we do what we do don't we.
I've searched the books...Christmas 1982..Judith Olney's ENTERTAINMENTS ~ twenty fabulous culinary events ~ a circular sticker proclaiming "BEST COOKBOOK TASTEMAKER AWARD" ~ for the 'themed night in Naples' the dessert is a pizza...pie dough, strawberry preserves, white chocolate, blanched almonds, and "trompe l'oeil candy black olives (optional)"
the pepperoni consisted of dates, chocolate, cinnamon, pine nuts, sugar, butter honey cocoa confectioners sugar..
I love browsing books of old...history jumps from them
I'd like an apple pie rug. Oh ok if it MUST be non-dessert I'll opt for a bowl of olives rug. _________________ "I've never accepted the external appearance of things as the whole truth. The world is much more elaborate than the nerves of our eye can tell us." - James Gleeson |

Rainey, these are fabulously ridiculous. Can't quite imagine having one though. And the second one looks more like a ninth-grade cell diagram than salami... _________________ Don't forget the cannolis! |

Don't you think they've just gotta move on to a baguette bench and swiss cheese drapes to go with? Then a nice tall mug o' beer with LED lights illuminating the whole thing would make a nice corner lamp, doncha think? ;> _________________ God writes a lot of comedy... the trouble is, he's stuck with so many bad actors who don't know how to play funny. -- Garrison Keillor |

Oh my goodness, Rainey!
I've only just seen this!! -- HILARIOUS!! I mean - who on earth would want those??
Your translation is perfect by the way, I particularly appreciate the poetic licence. I wish my students translated like that!! |
