PS:
Okay, so it worked - but I had to delete some of the options - I did that by deleting the last ones in, hope that's ok.

One thought. It may be nice to have the book selected be one that also has a movie. That way we get to continue the discussion after reading and watching. And it also allows those without interest or time to read the book to join the club.

Don't judge a book by its movie.

Simona:
The name of the author is: Diana Abu-Jaber - By the way, a complete list (with authors) is on the old thread: bookworms etc

Sarape:
I had those thoughts myself at one point; but people had already been suggesting, so I didn't want to suddenly introduce restrictions. But it is certainly something we should keep in mind!

Another thing I wanted to say: I think it should be quite possible to nominate a book again (there are a number of books on the list which i wouldn't mind reading...

I voted yesterday but the book I voted for has zero alongside it. What happened?

Now here's a piece of trivia for everyone who voted for 'The Life of Pi' .... M. Night Shyamalan, who directed 'Sixth Sense', is writing the screenplay for the movie. It will be directed by Alfonso Cuaron, who made my favourite of the 3 Harry Potter movies. Something to watch for in a couple of years.

Barbara: I have no idea - all I can suggest is that you vote again!

Oh, and by the way, the voting will end on Wednesday, 10th.

When do you want to discuss the book and/or present your book inspired dishes?

In my book group IRL (= in real life - I've just picked this TLA (three letter abbreviation) up on the blogscene), we give ourselves 6 weeks at most. That would take us to September, 21st. How's that for everyone?

There seems to be a problem. I've clicked everywhere and nothing happens. Is it set up so you can only vote once and my vote has already registered.
