Welcome to the Chocolate & Zucchini forums! This is the place to chat with fellow readers, exchange tips and recipes, and talk about cookbooks, travel, or pretty much anything else that interests you. To ensure a friendly, civil, and respectful atmosphere in this community, please take a moment to read the following guidelines. Your participation in the C&Z forums implies that you understand and accept them.

If you see a post that seems to violate these guidelines, please alert me using this contact form. A small group of forum members and I act as moderators and we reserve the right to delete any post in violation of these rules and/or ban the author, without notice. Rest assured that we only do so after discussing the issue together and that we strive to be fair and unbiased in our decisions.

1- Respect other members, their opinions, and their sensibilities. Do not post messages that are abusive, hateful, hurtful, offensive, defamatory, threatening, argumentative, inflammatory, baiting, hostile, vulgar, or obscene. Swearing is not allowed either. Please keep in mind that the members of these forums come from a great variety of countries, and that their cultural, educational, and political background may be very different from yours. Exercise your best diplomatic skills when broaching topics that may be sensitive to others -- politics and religion in particular.

2- No advertising. It is okay to share your personal and honest opinion about a product or service, but blatant advertising, commercial offers and search engine optimization messages will be immediately deleted. If you have a blog or website of your own, you are welcome to add a link to it in your profile or in your signature. You may also direct forum members to your website if it is relevant to the discussion at hand, but please avoid blatant self-promotion.

3- Stick to the topic. You are welcome to use a conversational writing style, but avoid going on too many tangents that will just lose the readers. If the topic of a particular thread makes you think of another (for example, if a thread on using fresh herbs inspires you to discuss creating your own herb garden), please start a new thread. You can post a message in the original thread to direct readers to the new one.

4- Keep your messages neat and readable. Avoid the use of all caps (either in the title or in the body of your message) and go easy on the smilies. If you are responding to someone else's message and wish to quote from it, do not quote entire blocks of text; just select a relevant sentence or two.

5- Copyrighted images. Do not use copyrighted or trademarked images as your avatar or in your posts unless you have cleared the necessary permissions with the owner.

6- Copyrighted recipes. Do not post copyrighted recipes on the forums. The list of ingredients and the process of a recipe are not copyrightable, but the author's way of describing them is. If you want to share a recipe (or your take on it) from a book, a magazine, a newspaper, or a website, do not copy it verbatim: provide a link to the original text, or use your own words to rewrite it. In all cases, please mention the source and give credit where credit is due.

7- Privacy. Do not post contact details for yourself or others. Do not post private email or message content.
