Chez Catherine has moved to the 8th arr. and is more expensive now. However, I have had a couple of very nice meals there. Service is very friendly and the food delicious, so I do recommend it. _________________ Fai Jackson |

I went to the most fabulous resaurant last night right near the metro at Place de Clichy.
It is called le Bouclard and is at 1 rue Cavallotti in the 18th. Ph. 01 45 22 60 01.
Bookings are absolutely essential!!!!! Do not go without a reservation as you will be disappointed when you are turned away. It is very popular and while we sat there they turned away over a dozen people who did not have reservations - just because they were so full.
It specialises in traditional French cuisine of the sort that Grandmothers used to make. Canard, foi gras and ecrivesses are the specialities of the house.
The staff are friendly and welcoming (they also speak english which may be of use to some of the forum participants who are visiting), the food was superb and we had a fabulous time. The atmoshpere was great and we will definately be going back there again.
It is not cheap, but is also not the most expensive meal I have ever eaten here in France.
The portions were very generous, in fact so generous that none of us could finish our main courses and we absolutely could not even look at the dessert menu. Every mouthful was so delicious that you found yourself eating more than you needed just for the flavour.
Today I have had a piece of baguette and a cup of tea.... still so full that cannot face a meal, but the memory of the dinner is still lingering like some wonderful dream.. _________________ If you cannot feel your arteries hardening, eat more cheese.
