Good luck there queenla! I admire anyone who can actually finish writing a whole book no matter how long it is-----and then to husband it through publishing-----excellent!

Thank you very much David.

Since I finished my masters in publishing and editing I too have a new found admiration for book publishers- all those details that you don't even notice! It's mind blowing.

Hi Judy,

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/5324 has user info about it and the story about how it came to be.
Writersports is a boardgame about writing- the art of literacy. I created it from a live show that I co-created ( with Micheal Harden- now a food writer) and produced in theatres, pubs, festivals and schools for 12 years. It came out nationally, in Australia, in 1996 and was very successful.
It's for up to ten players, and you can play by yourself ( I made it like that because I could never find enough people to play games with me when I was a kid). There are six games- Dear Mother, Poesy, Character, Slogan, Accent and Genre- about six aspects of writing- letters, poetry, short stories, Ads, Phonetics and Genres. There are time limits and it is fun.
I have a small private stash but it is not available any more ( I am looking for someone to make it software...) It has turned up in geekland and seems to be having a resurgence. I license the live show to interested people, generally for free, because it is a great spectacle and a good way to promote writers and writing
Probably more info than you were asking for. But there it is.
I think you could be a great detective writer- are you????![/url]

Wow Georgia, that sounds like something that should be in every primary and secondary school classroom. Sensational!

Adelaide has just had its biannual Writers Week, but in 2008 you should come over and stay with us and be a guest at Writers Week. Or stay at a posh hotel like The Treasury if you'd prefer, but you should definitely be here with your own speaking time slot.

I'd love to buy one from you - will contact you privately.

Moi, a detective writer? Nup, just good with a search engine.

Congratulations Georgia!

I'm just getting caught up on my personal reading between business trips, and I came across this thread. It must be so amazing to have your work published. Like many book lovers, I often think of writing myself, but don't have the discipline.

I'll be getting it for sure, but I'd love to get a signed copy if there's any way to arrange it.

Hearty congratulations, back slapping, hugs and cheers all 'round! How marvelous to be published and have your very own ISBN #! I will look forward to reading it soon! Cool

Call me insecure or neurotic or ego-centric, but has anyone any feedback for me from actually reading my book like they said they would?
I'm worried, i'm eager, i'm smoking and biting my nails. Do you not like me? Are you bored? Is it topical or meaningless?

I left a reply here, but it is not here so it must be like leaving car keys on the fridge and they're not there.
So here goes. I can't leave my final comment as the one above. Please forgive the attack of the slipperies. I am quite recovered.
And Judy- am I really going mad or have I already said this to you- Thanks so much for those gorgy things- you generous soul. And I'm very pleased you are happy with the game.
Thanks all for being very kind.
